Christian Atsu Twasam‘s mortal remains arrived at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Sunday, February 19, as planned.

The former Black Stars winger’s remains was transported on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul in a casket covered in the flag of the country.

The Ghana Armed Forces (GFA), the Tsawam family, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and the Government all met the corpse when it arrived at KIA.

On behalf of President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia led the government delegation to receive the lifeless remains.

Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, the minister of information, and a deputy minister of sports were among the other important visitors to the KIA VIP Lounge.

The location hosted a brief ceremony before the body was transferred to a waiting hearse.

It is believed that the family will make additional funeral arrangements after the remains are sent to the 37 Military Hospital for preservation.
