Power Book II: Ghost’: Quincy Brown was Auditioned for the Role of Cane

One of the most captivating series of the Power Universe is Power Book III: Raising Kanan. The 1990s-set drama acts as a precursor to both the first drama series and its sequel, Power Book II: Ghost.

Crown Camacho is portrayed on the program by renowned actor Quincy Brown. But his initial audition was for a Ghost part.

In fact, Woody McClain, who plays Cane on Ghost, initially believed the Raising Kanan actor had won the part.

The movie “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” stars Quincy Brown.

Before landing his role in Raising Kanan, Brown appeared in movies like The Holiday Calendar, so he is no stranger to both the big and small screens. The actor portrays Crown Camacho, a local music producer, in the 1990s-set television series. Lou Lou (Malcolm Brown), who we saw take over Crown’s record company last season, will surely generate some friction between the two men. Additionally, it appeared that Crown was somewhat attracted by Jessica Figueroa, Lou Lou’s girlfriend (Natalee Linez).

As a result of the success of the Power Universe, Brown told POPSUGAR, “they started to now dive into the characters that people fell in love with their storylines.” “Crown Camacho is that plug to the music and that ear to the streets. Everyone wants the newest singer with the hottest song, and I’m the one who has to deal with it because I believe that in the culture we live in, music speaks louder than anything.

Quincy Brown went through an audition to play Cane in “Power Book II: Ghost.”

Brown tried out for Power Book II: Ghost, another Power Universe series, before landing his part in Raising Kanan. Woody McClain, who plays Cane on Ghost, recently admitted that he didn’t think he got the part because he was aware that Brown had also applied. They were speaking for their podcast, The Crew Has It.

They explained, “Okay, so you’re trying out for the Power spinoff; you’ll play Cane [Tejada] like a flashy, flamboyant, like stuff like that, and then it was like the fight scene from the Ghost pilot from season one from the party. It was very brief,” said McClain.

It appears that McClain excelled in the role and the directors had different plans for Brown.

In Season 2 of “Raising Kanan,” Crown Camacho plays a crucial part.

Raising Kanan’s second season is scheduled to premiere on August 14. The official logline for season 2 has been revealed by Starz, and it sounds like quite the whirlwind is in store. Lou-Lou has other intentions involving his new record label, but Raq isn’t going to let his side business obstruct her growth, according to the article.

A new artist will be signed to the men’s label as well. Zisa, a stunning vocalist who might further stir up trouble between Lou Lou and Crown, will be played by Paulina Singer.
