The Nigeria Police Force, Federal Capital Territory Command, has detained a Nigerian pastor and his son in connection with the discovery of a mutilated female corpse in a river in the area.
On Monday, June 20, the preacher and his son were apprehended in Abuja’s Kubwa neighborhood.
According to a source, the pastor and his son were arrested on Tuesday, June 21, when a tricycle rider approached the police and told them that he transported the three sacks used to cover the victim’s and the animals’ remains.

“The son lied to the Keke rider that the sacks were scraps and asked him to carry them to the PW Bridge dumping site,” the source claimed.
He was charged N1,000 by the rider.
“It was the following morning after the baban bola (scavengers) broke the bags in their usual search for items that they discovered the contents and alerted people. The information got to the Keke rider and he voluntarily led the police to the church.”

Police brought the pastor’s son, who was in handcuffs, and the pastor into a police van at 3 p.m. on Monday.
The police later returned to the spot on Tuesday afternoon, June 21, to conduct additional searches of the building before sealing off the church grounds.
The father and son are still being held by police.
