The leak of the paper listing all the enormous assets Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, nicknamed Sir John, left to his children and some family members has now been proven to be the work of one woman who was romantically involved with him.
In a recent Fourth Estate exposé, it was shown how the former NPP general secretary obtained some government lands in the Achimota Forest illegally.
As a result of the significant public outrage, the Special Prosecutor tried to have the assets frozen.

During a court appearance, Sir John’s legal counsel stated that they are convinced that Akosua Darkoah, a longtime partner of the late Sir John, was responsible for inciting the public against their client and for the actions taken by the Office of the Special Prosecutor to freeze the assets of the deceased former NPP General Secretary.
Although numerous family sources claim she and Sir John were never married, they claim that it was because of her legal case that the original will was made public in order to court ill will and derision for the man she referred to as her deceased spouse.
